Hey, It's Okay!

It's time for Hey, It's Okay Fridays, inspired by Amber over at Airing My Dirty Laundry One Sock at a Time.

It's OK.....

..... if you just did 9 loads of laundry at your parents house, and your closet/dresser/storage drawers are still completely full.

..... to drive past people waiting in line for Black Friday and laugh, then go home and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.

..... to be excited for your crazy roommate to move out so your house will finally stop smelling like "dried black fungus" (she cooks with the stuff..... VOM)

..... to be super excited to start school again.

..... to not post on your blog for 6 months because you are way too busy having AWESOME adventures.

..... to use your best friends wedding as an excuse to take a 6 week vacation from school, work, everything!

..... to complain about working too much (58 hours) one week, and complain about not working enough (0 hours) the next.

..... to watch 2 full seasons of Psych over Thanksgiving break.

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Wow.... I suck at blogging apparently. :) It's been a crazy few months. I lived in Virginia from May 1-September 18, and I loved (almost) every second of it! There are so many wonderful experiences that I had living there, it would take me years to catch up! Now I'm back in Utah. I'm getting ready to go back to school in January and I can't wait!! I'm looking at a few different 30-day blog challenges, hopefully that will help me get in a better habit of keeping this silly blog updated! Check back soon! :)

I did it!

I finally bought myself a camera! I know I've been a total slacker, and haven't posted since I left. There is tons to tell, but I wanted to have pictures to accompany. :) Within the next few days I'll get rolling!

MOOO-ving!

Today, I left my family's house, got into my car, and drove away for the last time in a long time. I'm moving to Virginia! I can't even wait. :) I'm in Denver tonight, staying in a hotel with my younger sister, my traveling buddy. We had a blast today, and it has definitely been an eventful day! Pictures are sure to come. :)

Highlights:
- I tried to toast garlic bread on the oven in our hotel suite, and burned it. Our hotel room smells like burnt toast. :(
- I may or may not have coaxed, yelled at, and petted the dash of my car trying to convince it to make it up the mountains to Vail.
- In Vail, I felt like a rockstar, simply by association.
- We stopped at a gas station called the "Loaf 'N Jug" where we were greeted by a prompt on the gas pump screen that read, "Are you a sooper card member??" I laughed so hard I nearly peed.
- I stopped at a rest stop literally called the "No Name Rest Stop" I have photographic proof. Neat!
- My sister and I have an creepy awesome love of N*Sync, and we definitely sang every word of every song of one of their albums.... the rest to follow tomorrow on the way to Missouri. (We can even hum the instrumental interludes, and voice the sound effects. :P)

I'm excited for my new life, but sad to leave the old one behind! I love all my friends and family in Utah, and also in the blogosphere. Thanks for all your support!

Productivity Fail.

I decided that today was going o be the day I was super productive and spend a few hours at the library working on schoolwork. I dropped my friend at work, and decided to call another friend and stop by at his house to say goodbye. He was working, so I offered to take him out to lunch. Productivity Fail #1. An hour and a half later, I parked on campus and walked into the library. Lo and behold, the internet isn't working. I sign in again and again, reload, refresh...... nothing. I'm so frustrated at this point that i just click on my blog link, figuring nothing will happen. The productivity gods are against me. Blogger is the only site that will load. :) Fortunately Unfortunately. Productivity Fail #2

I love/hate finals week. I love it because I feel like the only calm person in a sea of stress. :) Because I'm in online school, I get to schedule my finals. Whenever I want. It's super bomb. However, there are people EVERYWHERE. I've never seen so many people in an on-campus library on a monday morning. It's kind of ridiculous. (OK, I know it's not morning, but in the world of college students, noon is early.... crack-of-dawn early...) Also, every stinking person in here is clogging up the "hi-speed" wireless internet with silly academic stuff. Thank you, I'd much rather be on facebook. Productivity Fail #3.

Let's be honest, I just wasn't born to be productive. But I was born to have fun, and that's all that matters right? :)

Hey! It's Okay Fridays!

It's time for Hey, It's Okay Fridays, inspired by Amber over at Airing My Dirty Laundry One Sock at a Time.

Hey, It's Okay....

... to change the order of your online classes to avoid a 15 page research paper, even if only for a month or so.

... to mock/laugh at all of your friends because they have finals, and you get to schedule your own and space them out through your semester.

... to (blatantly)ignore your roommate when she's being obnoxious.

... to be late to the chiropractor EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

... to talk to your favorite aunt about inappropriate things.

... to eat out twice a day in the name of saying goodbye to all of your friends.

... to avoid packing, even though you are moving in one week.

... to be ridiculously excited over something as simple as seeing a real-life firefly for the first time.

Introducing.... Hey, It's Okay Fridays!

So... Amber over at Airing My Dirty Laundry One Sock at a Time started doing a weekly feature called Hey, It's OK Tuesdays, after she was inspired by a column in Glamour magazine. I decided to jump on board and let you know a whole bunch of things that are OK. Enjoy!

Hey, It's Okay...

..... to be ridiculously excited about driving across the country solo. It's an adventure!

..... to quit your job a few days early so you can spend some extra time with someone you know you have no future with.

..... to compare Justin Bieber to an ultrasound photo... they're about the same age, right?

..... to wish you could speak another language solely so your friends couldn't have secret conversations right in front of you.

..... to spend an hour doing word searches because you just can't bear the thought of going through (and getting rid of) more clothes!

..... to crawl into your best friend's bed at 11:00 am in an attempt to wake her up, and end up sleeping there until 7 pm, when she wakes you up so you can go away and she can go out.

..... to be super forward with members of the opposite sex, because you know you are moving in less than two weeks, and you no longer care about your boring reputation (and you want to be remembered as "saucy")!!

Overheard

Sometimes, when you are in a high school, you hear terribly random, awkward things come out of people's mouths. I'm a private tutor, and for 2 of my students, I go to their high school and work with them during their study hall hour. One student and I work together in the counseling office. There is another tutor group that works at the next table. Usually, we just ignore them, they ignore us, it works out pretty well. A few weeks ago, though, H and I started catching snippets of conversation from their general specific direction. We decided to keep track of some of their ridiculous comments. :) Enjoy!

"Every time he touches me, it's like all my problems go away. I feel like I can FLY"

"I only want to be a teacher so I can tell people what to do, and laugh as I punish them"

"I wish I was the dominatrix of the world"

"I finally got her to the point where she'll tickle me."

"If you think about it, every word you say leads back to sex."

"All day yesterday, I was touching someone."

Lesson learned? Keep you ears open in public, and you'll hear some pretty priceless things. :)

Please stop stalking from the shadows.

Most of the time stalking is socially unacceptable, but in the blogging world it is much appreciated. :)
I get 15-20 hits on my blog daily, which I know isn't a lot, but it's way more than I thought I had. I think I would realize the sheer amount of visitors I actually get if people were commenting! :) I love all of you, and I would definitely appreciate some comment love, or at least a quick email, so I know who's seeing this!

I know I've been a slacker about posting new and hilarious information about my life, but that's because I'm formulating some awesome ideas, and they take some time. Also, I've been really busy thinking about how I'm going to accomplish the things on my to-do list! I'll let you know as soon as I actually DO something about it!

I love all of you! Thanks for visiting!

You can call me Miss Poppins.

Six.

That's how many children I'm now in charge of.
Scary? Of course. Incredible? Absolutely!

I started nannying today.  I'm definitely loving it! It's cuh-razy but so, so fun! I feel like I have gone from
0-60 in 3.5. This morning, I was a lazy college student griping about how her ridiculous roommates feel the need to mess with her laundry and ruin her clothes. Fast forward 10 hours, and I'm coordinating baths, doling out goldfish, reading storybooks, signing off homework, and kissing boo-boos better.

I feel like superwoman.

The house is finally silent, and I'm basking in it. Though I normally have music playing as a background to every moment of my life, I am content to hear the clicking of my keys, and nothing else.  I know it's only 7 short hours before I hit the ground running, but for now I just sit.

I just heard a rustling noise from the general direction of the children's room and I nearly had a heart attack. I. Must. Sleep.

P.S. This is day 2 in a row.... let's see if I can make it 8 more. :)

Resolute.... for now.

I know it's way beyond the socially acceptable time limit for posting your New Year's Resolutions, but I'm pretty good at ignoring those unwritten rules! :) I've never really believed in New Year's Resolutions, because I think they burn people out, and everyone thinks that New Year's Eve/Day gives them some sort of magical superhuman self control. Yeah, right. So I like to take a while, and reflect on my life, and truly decide what will make me happy. Then, I make a bucket list. :) Way more fun than saying "I want to be healthier, exercise more, keep my house cleaner, blah, blah, blah" So here it is!

20 Things to Do in my 20th year

1. Buy a beautiful camera, like this one.
2. Pay off my car.
3. Take and Post pictures with said camera.
4. Bake a homemade cheesecake.
5. Sing the National Anthem at a Utah Jazz game.
6. Go snowboarding (I've lived in Utah for 8 years of my life and never been.)
7. Visit ArizonaLewis at least three times.
8. Act in a play.
9. Do my laundry BEFORE I am perilously close to running out of clean underwear.
10. Write a song.
11. Learn to play the guitar well.
12. Learn to speak fluent Spanish.
13. Go camping.
14. Go fishing and catch a fish.

16. Go to Disneyland.
17. Visit Washington D.C.
18. Blog every day for 10 days.

20. Take a yoga class.

I'll be updating you all each time I complete one of these things. I'm sure some great stories will ensue!

Guess who's back??

So, maybe I'm so busy blog-stalking other people, that I forget to update my own. Also, my complete lack of camera makes my posts full of words, and empty of picture. I guess I'll just have to get more creative, and continue to save some cash! I'm dying for one of these beautiful babies!

Yes, Please!

Photography is one of my loves. Too bad school, all of my jobs, and all that crap people call "real life" suck up all my time and opportunity to be creative! That's why I'm going to do school online for a while, cut back to just 1, maybe 2 jobs, (instead of 3 1/2) and stop letting people tell me how to run my life!

Ah, blogging world... it's good to be back!
